About

In the Bay Area since 1989.

Marisa Roman Wachhorst is a real estate consultant and agent in the San Francisco Bay Area, licensed by the California Department of Real Estate since 1989 (DRE 01049436) and working with Keller Williams Realty in Burlingame.

She describes herself simply: a real estate consultant and agent, a tennis player, an influential connector — and a mother, wife and friend. After all this time, that last part is why so many of her clients come through people she already knows.

Her work goes well beyond one town. Recent sales have taken her from a Burlingame home she co-listed to an Edwardian building in San Francisco's South of Market, a condominium in Sunnyvale, a new townhome in Napa and an oceanfront home in Encinitas, on the San Diego coast — sellers and buyers alike.

For sellers

Advice before a listing.

In the Bay Area the difference between a good sale and a great one is usually decided before the house goes live: what to repair, what to stage, when to list and how to price against the handful of truly comparable sales. Doing exactly that since 1989, and the relationships to get it done quickly.

For buyers

The right town, and the right introduction.

San Francisco or the Peninsula, Silicon Valley or Napa: schools, space, commute and character differ a great deal from one town to the next. And in the Bay Area, the right house is sometimes found through a conversation rather than a portal.

How buying works
Frequently asked

The questions that come first.

Which areas do you cover?

The Bay Area as a whole. Much of the work is on the Peninsula, but recent sales have been in San Francisco, Sunnyvale and Napa as well as Burlingame — and, for a client buying on the San Diego coast, Encinitas.

What does a real estate consultant do?

Gives advice about the whole decision — timing, preparation, price and which town suits you — before and alongside the transaction itself.

Is it a good time to sell?

That depends on your street, your house and your plans more than on the headlines. It is exactly the conversation to have first, and it costs nothing.

Can you recommend contractors, lenders or stagers?

Yes. Licensed since 1989, Marisa knows the people who do the work well.

How do I find out what my home is worth?

Ask for a valuation. It is built from what has actually closed near you, and nothing is attached to it.

Why Marisa

I have held a California real estate license since 1989, and in that time the Bay Area has changed almost beyond recognition. What has not changed is how a good move happens: through someone who knows the neighbourhoods, knows the people, and can make the right introduction at the right moment. I call myself a real estate consultant as well as an agent because most of the job is advice — when to sell, what to fix, which town suits the way you live — and the connections I have made since 1989 are there to be used for my clients.

A consultant, an agent and a connector.
